December 10th - 17th

Our last week at ELES. We had a great week. As the last week before Christmas break, it was an eventful week. We went on a picnic (which was an adventure) with the kids in classes 1-5, participated in the Sports Day (I played Cricket), and took part in the Christmas celebration with all of the parents, as well as our usual: teaching, devotions, assembly, and church visitation. It was a great week.

For the picnic, we drove 2 hours away from the school, almost into Bhutan, and played games and had a nice meal. It was a great day for the kids. Hey had a wonderful time!

The Sports Day was also great. There were all sorts of events, mostly track and field stuff. Long jump, races, dashes, etc..., but the most fun was the cricket match. We played staff versus students and they allowed me to play. I had tons of fun! I ended up being the second leading batsman for the staff, scoring 8 runs! The next closest staff member had only 2 runs. It was great. Everyone was impressed with my cricket abilities. I even scored a 4 during one over! It was great. The kids ended up trouncing us though. That was sad. Overall it was a super day. Back at the NF office in Bengal, they now consider me a citizen of India since I have taken part in a Cricket match! Very exciting!

The Christmas celebration was also fun. Many of the parents of students at the school attended, including many of the NF workers who have kids at the school. It was great. We sang carols and had speeches, a drama and guest speakers. It was fun. The kids and parents had a great time! We all loved it.

On Sunday, we visited two more fellowship groups with Pastor M. We are amazed by his stamina! He has 12 groups/families that he visits consistently while also seeking new believers. It is amazing.

We also had the opportunity to sit and talk with 6 NF workers when they came to pick up their kids. That was neat. It is always encouraging to us to spend time with these men of God.

On Monday, we left ELES. It was a sad parting. We will miss our new friends.
