In July of 2007, we began working with Global Fellowship. We set out with the purpose of enouraging and equipping the partners that Global Fellowship had established around the world. For more than five years, that has been our main role and focus. Of course, we have done many other things along the way, but we have always tried to keep encouragement and equipping of our partners as our main focus. And we thank you for partnering with us in that. Without your faithful support and prayers, we would not have been able to minister as we have. Our ministry has taken us to India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Kenya, Mexico, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, and the Ukraine. We have been able to minister in eleven countries over the past five and a half years. It has been a blessing and an honor to be able to serve the Lord in this way. Through our preaching, teaching, training, instruction, counseling, encouragement, and prayer, lives have been touched, people have been changed, workers have been strengthened, and the Gospel has been proclaimed. All of that is because of your support for us. May God be glorified!
Now, we have new and exciting news for you! Over the last six months, we have been doing a lot of research on the least reached parts of the world and where the biggest needs are for the Gospel to be taken. Through our research and obviously through the directing of the Holy Spirit, we have personally been impressed with a burden to take the Gospel to these places. In our extensive research, one country in particular has jumped out at us. We know that the Lord is directing us to take the Gospel to that region of the world. That country is the Czech Republic, located in eastern Europe.
In the Czech Republic, there are approximately ten million people. Less than 1% of them are evangelical Christians! Most of the people in the country do not have a local church that they could attend even if they wanted to. Over 70% of the population are atheists! This ranks the Czech Republic as the most non-religious country in the entire world! The need for the Gospel in the Czech Republic is great. And we are going to answer the call, being sent to the Czech Republic by Global Fellowship, and begin a pioneer church planting ministry there.
The last five and a half years have been an incredible experience, and we feel that this time has prepared and trained us for what is ahead. As we continue to prepare, train, and plan, please be praying along with us for this new role that God has placed before us. We will be heading off to the Czech Republic in the spring or summer of 2013, after our son, Alexander Philip Lengtat, is born in January. It will take us some time to get all of his paperwork in order for travel. We covet your prayers during this time. We have much to learn between now and the time that we depart. The training, preparation (including language learning), and planning that is before us is monumental. Thankfully, all things are possible in our Lord! We are so excited about this new area of ministry that God has prepared for us!
